Here's What's Happening in Our Community
LT Roger R. Bartel, USN, plank owner USS Ogden, died 10 February 2002. He retired after 27 years of service in 1974 in San Diego. He had served in every rank from seaman recruit, to CPO, and as an officer. He and his wife, "Kit", lived in Chula Vista, CA, until his death. Kit Bartel now lives in Ohio. "Bart" is survived by his widow, and two daughters, Peggy and Kathy, both of whom also were present for the commissioning of the Ogden.
