Larry Thomas
Graveside services for Larry Thomas, 73, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., at South Park Cemetery, with Vista Care Hospice Chaplain Cecil Kimberlin and military honor provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Larry passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday morning at his home.
 
Larry was born on Nov. 4, 1934, in Peoria, Ill., to Ralph and Bernice Thomas. He was united in marriage to Betty Slocum on May 25, 1957, in Seabrook, N.H. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2002. Larry served in the United States Navy during Korea and Vietnam. after retiring from the Navy after 35 years of faithful service, they moved to Roswell in 1984 from San Diego.
 
Larry is survived by four children, Ruth Wells of New Mexico, Karen Reber of Roswell, Joe Thomas of Colorado, and David Thomas of San Diego; seven grandchildren, Scott Wells, Kyle King, Derek, Brandon and Rachel Reber, and Cheyenne and Rhiannon Thomas; one great-grandaughter, Jadeya Reber; and six siblings, Ginger Loveridge of Arizona, Joanne Bushley of Arkansas, Mary Bearce of Colorado, Margie Edmond of Arizona, Riley Thomas of Texas and Peggy Miller of New Mexico.
